The discovery and early establishment
Having founded the company Dodge Brothers Company by Horace and John Dodge in 1900, this company makes engine components and chassis of the vehicle. John Dodge in 1913 saying that he no longer willing to simply as "penyetok" for Henry Ford, then in 1914 he and Horace agreed to make a 4-cylinder vehicles (Dodge Model 30). They made this car has all-steel body, while most other companies still have the element of wood. Besides the existing 12 volt electrical system, (cars with 6 volt electrical system was still there until the 1950s) and a sliding-gear transmission. The company developed the Dodge brothers were successful because the quality is good, and the company soon became the second largest company by sales in the U.S. market in 1916.
Dodge Company continues to record good sales until 1920. But after that, John Dodge died of pneumonia in early January 1920. His brother, Horace, also died in December 1920 due to cirrhosis. Company Dodge brothers fell into the hands of their wives, who then lifted Frederick Haynes became president of the company. Dodge Model 30 was developed into Dodge Model 116, with basic construction and the same features.Dodge models sold in North America today is the caliber, Avenger, Charger, Challanger, Viper, Journey, Nitro, and Grand Caravan.

Dodge's muscle car, Dodge Challenger SRT8, receives a boost in horsepower and torque with an introduction of the 392-cu inch HEMI V8 powertrain. The Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 delivers more performance and better handling with .93g of lateral acceleration on the skid pad – the most of any production Challenger till date.
Dodge performance loyalists asked for more power off the line, and the 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 answers the call with 470 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque. That’s 90 lb.-ft. more torque at 2,900 rpm compared with the previous 6.1-liter V-8 engine. To kick off 2011-model year production, Dodge will build 1,492 Inaugural Edition models of the Dodge Challenger SRT8 392, all with exclusive content.
On the outside, Dodge is offering unique customization for those first 1,492 owners. Two colors and new full-body stripe combinations include Deep Water Blue with standard Stone White stripes or Bright White Clear Coat with standard Viper Blue stripes. All Inaugural Edition models will ride on standard 20-inch SRT-exclusive wheels that feature a polished face and satin black painted pockets.
Unique “392 HEMI” badges flank both fenders touting the historically significant V-8 engine. Mopar quad exhaust tips deliver the performance exhaust note while adding a serious muscle car styling cue. A larger front splitter and integrated front fender spats give this Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 better overall high-speed aerodynamics and balance.

0 comments Posted by car 2011 at 8:52 AMIn the age of high gas prices, hybrids and everyone supposedly going green like the government would make you think, the 2010 class of cars, SUV's and trucks took another hit this year with depreciation and upkeep costs. Just about all the top companies took a good hit in both categories of big and roomy and the supposedly fuel-efficient compact variety which is not as a big hit to people as many would tell you. Here's a listing of the worst performers of 2010 and vehicles you should avoid. These are not in any specific order. (contributed by Design 911)
Cadillac Escalade - Type: Luxury SUV
It's hard to say really what tipped the "experts" off on this vehicle. It did rank poorly amongst safety and value but the one statistic that really stuck out was this vehicle got top honours for the most stolen vehicle out of everything that's out there. "Pimp My Ride" apparently does not apply here.
Chevrolet Aveo - Type: Compact
The Chevrolet Aveo5 1LT overall value is at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to even more expensive models such as the Volkswagen Golf and Honda Civic. Consumer Reports concludes that "the ride is jittery and noise is constant." . What would you expect from driving something as small as a golf cart?
Chevrolet Colorado - Type: Pickup Truck
This vehicle has been rated poorly in just about in every aspect so I'm not going to waste my time telling you about it because what does matter is the fact that GM is soon doing away with this model as well as the Canyon. So, of course the best medicine would be to stay away from these models.
Dodge Nitro - Type: SUV
The SLT model is just another version of the Jeep Liberty but with lower marks. Consumers complained
how noisy this SUV is and how it lacks agility. There tended to be some sort of body lean which added difficulty for people steering. This would be the equivalent of pushing a baby stroller in gravel.
Ford F-250 - Type: Truck
The 2010 Ford F-250 Lariat was ranked the worst on gas mileage getting on average just 10 mpg. This was a diesel engine model as well. Hate to see how an unleaded version would do. At this bad a rate of miles per gallon, one would think you'd have to get a bank loan just to get back and forth to work every three months.
Jeep Wrangler - Type: SUV
The Unlimited Sahara was the main gripe but Jeep Wrangler overall has plummeted 23% in sales since the beginning of the year. Apparently it does well off-road but fell short when driven on-road. Handling is a challenge with vague steering and low cornering limits. It's reliability was another negative for consumers.
Chrysler Sebring - Type: Midsize
Car experts ridicule this unpopular gem for its cheap interior and poor performance. It is considered the worst midsize car for the money due to the high ownership costs. Its rate of depreciation is almost faster than watching paint dry.
Mercury Mountaineer - Type: SUV
Top honours for worst midsize SUV for the money, the Mountaineer (and its twin, Ford Explorer, which ranked right behind it) is truck-based. So therefore it makes it use more fuel than the competition and not something suited for city and suburban driving. If you live in this type area, the handling may cause a vein to pop out of your forehead as well.See another worst car 2010 here.

The Dodge Challenger SRT8 CULT Motorsport has built about a year, but given its public debut at this year's SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Threatening is the word that best defines him. If this muscle car is already very rough number, imagine a black paint and a body kit widebody widened to the absolute limits.
The tires have at least 22 inches and are wrapped in almost invisible profile tires. The brake system that lives in the wheels is higher than standard, would make sense. The menacing touch clearly puts the optics, surrounded by red LEDs, which creature from Hell. The Fog receive the same treatment, and the result is a menacing look, bloodshot and very aggressive.
Since the Challenger has received a very special motor preparation, as can be seen consisting of a huge inlet and compressor, protruding from the bonnet-style hot-rod. Technical data are unknown, but since it is an SRT8, carries a 6.1 V8 HEMI engine that delivers the power I doubt standard. In fact, it is rumored by some U.S. forums that their real power actually round figures close to 1,000 hp.

Dodge's Rampage concept seems to have everything that the typical Dodge truck buyer is looking for: massive size, a stylish yet aggressive look and a 5.7 liter HEMI engine. But Dodge says that it designed the Rampage to appeal to those "non-traditional" pick-up buyers.
Huh? This looks like a traditional (albeit very stylized) pick-up. What's so different about it? We'll tell ya...
Traditional truck guys are going to be shocked by this, but this Rampage is basically a truck-shaped car. Not only does the Rampage utilize unibody construction and have an independent rear suspension, it is - gasp - front wheel drive!!
Yes, this brawny and rugged Dodge is a front wheel drive car... er... truck. After reading the concept behind this concept, this drivetrain layout makes sense. You see, Dodge wanted to build a vehicle that possessed the utility of a truck but had the cabin comfort and room of a passenger car. Yeah, we know... that idea basically describes a minivan, but minivans aren't cool -- trucks are, and so Dodge went with the truck theme.
Actually... now that we think about it, this Rampage is a close cousin of the minivan. Take a look at how the doors of this thing open!
In case you couldn't tell from the picture above, the rear door slides backwards -- much like the back door of a minivan. Still, the interior of this Rampage is much cooler than that of most kid haulers. The interior of the Rampage is designed to be "rugged and athletic" (Dodge's words), so it uses a special urethane material for the seating surfaces and has a rubberized floor. Styling touches come courtesy of a raised center console/gauge cluster and exposed metal pieces.
Here's another nod to Dodge's minivan heritage: you know how Dodge touts its trademarked Stow 'n Go seating in its minivan commercials? Well, this Stow 'n Go system finds a home in the Rampage. Not only do the rear seats fold down into the floor, the front passenger seat does as well. You can fit a whole lotta crap in this thing!
Versatility is the key feature of the Rampage, as not only do all passenger seats fold flat to the floor, the "wall" that separates the cabin from the truck bed also folds flat, increasing useable cargo area even more. Not only that, but the rear lift gate can extend and fold down to a 117 degree angle, which transforms the rear gate into a ramp. It's as if this truck/minivan was designed to haul motorcycles or something...
As cool as this concept is, it's only a concept for now. Will Dodge ever build something like this? We doubt it. We don't think people would shell out serious cash for a front wheel drive HEMI-powered truck/minivan/crossover. If Dodge does decide to make one of these, however, we're first in line for the first test drive.

The 2010 Dodge Charger continued with few changes. A new 2010 Dodge Charger Rallye replaced the SXT, with more styling cues and better handling; it uses the 3.5-liter V-6 engine, 18-inch aluminum wheels, rear sway bar, and rear deck-lid spoiler. 20-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels with P245/45R20 Goodyear Eagle RS-A all-season performance tires are available. A Rallye Chrome & Leather package adds leather, shiny wheels, numerous luxury features, and a powerful Boston Acoustics stereo.
