var addthis_config = {"data_track_clickback":true}; Subaru has released the first-ever teaser picture of its eagerly anticipated rear-wheel drive sports car concept ahead of its debut at the 2011 Geneva motor show on March 1. Even though Subaru's original ghost sketch of the car shows only a darkened outline of the front end, we managed to significantly brighten up the photo through some

Subaru’s new boxer engine details have just been released and the main result is better fuel economy than the existing models whilst maintaining plenty of power and torque.
The new Subaru normally-aspirated (non-turbo) engine is the third generation developed by Fuji Heavy Industries, Subaru’s father company, and it’s the first brand new engine since 1989.
Subaru engines have always been robust, fairly powerful and very torquey especially when matched to high-geared ratios within Subaru’s all-wheel drive system. But the engines weak link has always been consumption and economy. It’s not that the engines are bad on fuel, they just consume a little more than the rivals.
Now though, Subaru and Fuji Heavy Industries have improved this area with indications noting a 10 percent increase in fuel economy. This was done through the use of lighter moving parts and an Active Valve Control system for the intake and exhaust.
The new 2.0-litre engine uses undersquare bore and stroke measurements too, meaning the pistons travel further than they are wide; 84mm bore and a 90mm stroke. This helps with torque and reduces the engine’s inclination to want to rev higher for more performance. Figures of 109kW and 196Nm are on offer.
Managing Director, Subaru Australia, Nick Senior said in a recent report,
“This is an exciting engineering development from FHI. They’re renowned for the durability of their engines and this new unit will take the sophistication to a whole new level that we’ll look forward to experiencing in some versions of our best-selling Forester next year.”Subaru says the new engine will be available in both 2.0-litre and 2.5-litre capacities and will first go into the market with the Subaru Forester model year 2011, which will be launched early next year.
Subaru Impreza WRX 2011 is presented at the New York Auto Show. This new model has been improved and Subaru couldn`t just tweak the engine, they tweaked the body too. Subaru Impreza WRX 2011 has a wider track, with about 1.5″. The body modifications are completed with a new “face” and the 17″ wheels.
The new Subaru Impreza WRX 2011 has the same power specs as the previous model: 265Hp and 244lb-ft of torque.

Subaru Impreza WRX, Subaru of America is launching the 2011 Impreza WRX with wide-body design similar to the one on the ship WRX STI. Stability and traction control are standard, along with the Star system which Subaru Assist trend known in the manual transmission 2011 WRX models. The track is widened by 1.5 inches on the front and rear, and the cars get a 1-inch-wheels and wider tires.
Front fenders and rear quarter-panel was also broader. Model four-door is 6.5 inches longer than the five-door, Subaru says, and the trunk can hold three Tour-size golf bags.Aesthetically, 2011 WRX has a new grille with blacked-out basis, spoiler lip and foglamp wider openings. A navigation system is optional.Curb weight is up to 34 pounds in 2011 on WRX models come out.Prices have not been announced for the model 2011. 2010 WRX models starting price of $ 24,995 for a four door and $ 25,495 for model.Income five-door that separates buyers from owners of WRX STI, Subaru demographics show. This year the similarity even closer: Little bro big bro’s wear clothes. The 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX brings the same width, arrogant, come-on-and-try-me bodywork as IMS.
No, the WRX is wearing flat wheel arches more fitting to the Corolla from the rally-bred performance machine. Key to the WRX this year lies in how the body affects one drive. For machine, WRX coefficient of drag is increased by 5 percent, according to Subaru. This new attitude also allowed a one-inch-wider wheels (now 17 x 8.0) and 10-millimeter-wider tires (now 245/45/R17). Subaru has news for you. There’s little to distinguish the 2011 model from its 2010 counterpart. Up front, the grille and swept headlights work together to create a cohesive look that draws your eye down the side of the vehicle. Details like large insets for fog lights, flared fenders and boxy side-view mirrors help give the Forester more of an SUV flavor than other compact high-riders out there, and while we miss some of the wagon aspects of older Foresters.
Inside, there are includes the decorative swath of silver trim helps to brighten the cabin, the cockpit is still a little dark for our tastes. The driver is treated to a well-sorted steering wheel with controls for cruise, hands-free calling and the stereo within reach, and the set of somewhat plain gauges are easy to read day or night. 2011 Subaru Forester uses an engine that’s considerably more advanced than its predecessor. The old engine’s belt-driven, single-overhead cam design has been replaced with a chain-driven dual-overhead cam setup for better efficiency. The change helped net the engine an extra one mpg in the city on the EPA’s cycle. Additionally, the four-cylinder uses a marginally larger bore and longer stroke, tweaking displacement from 2,457cc to 2,498cc and helping to deliver an extra four pound-feet of torque 300 rpm sooner than the old 2.5-liter engine.

The new engine is still bolted to the same four-speed automatic transmission that Moses brought down from Mount Fuji. Whereas the 2010 Forester was saddled with the company’s characteristically tractor-esque rumble from under the rounded hood, the 2011 hums along with a fraction of the racket. The 2011 Forester still provides hilariously excellent driving dynamics given its lofty ride height thanks to a pile of DNA borrowed from the lovable WRX.Sunday, April 11, 2010
